’Tis the season for outdoor screenings. And not all the stars are in the movies when you head to Astoria Park for a flick, food, and the perfect pint.

DRINK: A Well-Crafted Beer at SingleCut Beersmiths

This taproom looks like it used to be a band rehearsal space, but then that band got really good at brewing beer. Bonus: SingleCut was one of the first craft breweries to serve Northeast-style IPAs in NYC. 19-33 37th Street

SHOP: For Movie Snacks at Astoria Bier + Cheese

Forget popcorn: No picnic blanket is happy unless it’s laden with cheese and charcuterie. Luckily, the selection of meats and cheeses here is insane. 35-11 Ditmars Boulevard

DO: Catch a Flick on the Astoria Park Great Lawn

Starting mid-July, your Mondays will become much more exciting thanks to screenings of older classics and 2019 favorites: Singin’ in the Rain, Clueless, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Incredibles 2, and The GodfatherMonday, July 22–August 19; 8:15 p.m.; Astoria Park Great Lawn

EAT: At the Hyped and Homey Trattoria Ninos AQ

Yes, the ravioli is transcendent, but don’t miss the skirt steak encrusted in coffee grounds and dotted with bits of black garlic. It might sound trite, but it’s true: Everything is good at this comfy neighborhood spot. 5-01 Ditmars Boulevard
