This weekend, City Grange is hosting a pop-up that’s sure to lift your spirits and brighten your day. In light of the annual Chicago Flower & Garden Show cancellation and, you know, the general state of the world, the garden center has stepped in to sell the plants and flowers that were supposed to be used in lavish displays for the event.

The Flower Show To-Go takes place this weekend, March 21–23, and the Lincoln Square–based City Grange promises to be fully stocked with beautiful plants, from rosebushes and hydrangeas to bright azaleas and plenty of annuals and perennials. With the seasons changing, it’s the perfect time to snag a few plants and celebrate the onset of April flowers, even while social distancing. And speaking of maintaining distance, City Grange has a list of plants on its website that you can peruse and preorder for curbside pickup or delivery.

For those who prefer to shop in person, the pop-up has a spacious outdoor space where there’s plenty of room to browse. If you’re interested in this option, snag a free entry ticket here so that organizers can properly prepare and ensure that no more than 10 shoppers are in the same area at once.

Added altruistic bonus: Purchases at the pop-up also support the local nonprofit Get Growing Foundation, which teaches people all about gardening at home, especially in urban communities.

The Flower Show To-Go takes place March 21,10 a.m.–4 p.m., and March 22 and 23, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
