You may have heard (but then again, you may not have!) that New York Mayor Bill de Blasio is not going to be the 46th president of the United States. He probably won’t be the 47th either. Or 48th. You get the point. But while de Blasio’s brief run was not superlucky, there is good news: We’ve found a lucky 13 things in the city that Park Slope’s favorite gym rat can do with all the time he’ll save not running for a higher office. And even better news for WSWD readers, you don’t have to be a failed political candidate to enjoy these foods, drinks, and activities!

  1. Learn how to eat a slice like our database guy/pizza guru and not, you know, with a fork
  2. Go on a date night in Park Slope near his beloved gym.

  3. Even though his baseball team won’t be in the playoffs, he can catch up on some sports coverage at our favorite city sports bars.

  4. Drown your non-nomination-snagging sorrows in some quality Italian food on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx—he (and you) might bump into John Leguizamo!

  5. Take some selfies at the new sustainability focused pop-up museum Arcadia Earth. Maybe the exhibition could help him develop his climate change ideas.

  6. Take in some nature at Fort Tryon Park. But please don’t pick up its beloved critters—that tends to not go so well.

  7. Eat some gourmet corn dogs at Empellon Al Pastor; he might be missing the food in Iowa…

  8. …except on Mondays, when he should be going meatless at these vegan-friendly spots around Manhattan.

  9. Hang out with the Nightlife Mayor. Because even failed presidential candidates want to have fun.
