Layover at O’Hare International Airport? You’re actually in luck! JetBlue’s terminals are among the most family-friendly terminals in the country. Here’s what to do, where to eat, and how to actually have fun at the airport with kids.

DO: Let the Kids Loose at Terminal 5’s Indoor Play Area

It’s entertainment with a side of education at this small play space called Kids Play It Safe, sponsored by the Chicago Fire Department. M12, Terminal 5

EAT: Feast on Deep-Dish at Reggio’s Chicago-Style Pizza

Let’s face it: If you’re anywhere near Chicago, deep-dish pizza is requisite eats. Reggio’s is here to satisfy those cravings with shareable, kid-friendly pies oozing with cheese and piled-high toppings like sausage. Other crowd-pleasing options include thin-crust pizza, pasta, and wings. K4, Terminal 3

SHOP: At the Field Museum Store

Kids (and their parents) love the Field Museum in Chicago, but if you don’t have time to visit the museum campus, this airport store is a great alternative. Shop for fun merch that runs the gamut from ancient Egypt (a plush Anubis and a mummy dig kit) to stuffed dinosaurs, including the Field’s resident T. rex, Sue. K1, Terminal 3

DO: Watch Airplanes in Action

As one of the biggest and busiest airports in the world, there’s no shortage of aviation action for kids to marvel at here. For some of the best views of planes landing and taking off, swing by Chili’s Too and snag a window seat. G10, Terminal 3

SNACK: On Garrett Popcorn

When it comes to Chicago snacks, it doesn’t get any more iconic than Garrett Popcorn. And what kid doesn’t love this salty-buttery stuff?! Just follow the fresh-popped aroma and feast on Garrett’s famed caramel and/or Cheddar cheese varieties. H2, Terminal 3

Where are you headed next? We’ve got a plan for that!
