Feeling blue now that your pink pussy hat is stashed at the back of the closet? Don’t fret—head to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. That’s where Museum Hack—which hosts unconventional, small-group tours of the world’s best museums—offers its Bad Ass Bitches of the Met tour.

On the two-hour walk-through, you’ll learn the fascinating, untold tales of female artists, including that of Artemesia Gentileschi, one of the most accomplished painters of the late Baroque period, despite the fact that—as a woman—she wasn’t allowed to attend art school, as well as contemporary artist Kiki Smith, who often explores the female body in her work, such as the famed sculpture Lilith.

“We dare to ask questions loudly,” says Museum Hack tour guide Bex Odorisio. “We laugh, God forbid. I like to say it’s not a real Museum Hack tour unless we get scolded by a guard at least once.” But don’t let that stop you. And don’t forget to wear your pink pussy hat.

Why You Should Go: For an empowering look at women who shaped art through the ages. As Museum Hack puts it, “The future is female, and guess what: The past was hella female, too.”
