New York City has boasted many of the world’s most stylish women: Madonna, Billie Holiday, Diane von Furstenberg, Jackie Kennedy Onassis, Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Cardi B, and Chloë Sevigny, just to name a handful. And if fictional characters count—and we think they do—add Denise Huxtable, Carrie Bradshaw, and Annie Hall to the list.
Maybe it’s because this city is overflowing with dynamic, creative, beautiful, and bold female-identifying individuals who express themselves fully and have fun doing it—whether they’re on a budget or not. March was Women’s History Month and, as always, NYC women were out working, creating, parenting, studying, organizing, and socializing—all while looking mighty fierce. Here are just a few of the style stars we encountered over the course of last month.
