Roots in Bryant Park

Wednesday, September 28, 2016
Already a must-go music festival in Philadelphia, the Roots Picnic comes to New York City for the first time this weekend, at Bryant Park. The lineup features a dynamic mix of funk, hip-hop, rock, reggae, and R&B performers, curated by the  The Roots drummer—and musical encyclopedia—Questlove. Saturday's killer show, starring R&B/soul virtuoso D'Angelo, John Mayer, and  The Roots themselves, is sold out, so scour StubHub for tickets (we can help!). Day two will be a blast, too, with the Wu-Tang Clan, David Byrne, Nile Rodgers, and Swizz Beatz set to play. The gathering of so many deep-in-the-groove acts ensure that the small park in the heart of the city will be pumping hard.
